We...have...BOOST

My apologies for the almost daily updates on my progress with my engine swap (77 930 engine into '75), but I'm excited and my wife has told me to quit babbling about the @#$% car.

Today I found that I had missed a very obvious vacuum leak - I had forgotten to plug up one of the vacuum lines used for some of the smog equipment on the intake plenum. The car had reluctantly run around the block yesterday, but did not like to rev, and there was a loud turbine sound that I could not identify (I've never heard a 930 engine before, so didn't know if it was normal). Another amateur mistake....

Well, I plugged the hole, and the engine suddenly became a whole different animal. Quieter, and the whooshing was gone. I checked the mix and timing, hopped in and headed down the block.

Got up to around 2500 RPM in first gear, and decided to gas it a little...WHOOSH -the boost gauge rocketed up to 5psi, revs bounced to 4100 RPM INSTANTLY, where the rev limiter (set through the CD box) cut in. Wow. So that's what a 930 feels like.

Got into second, but my neighborhood really isn't the place to test this thing out. Maybe tomorrow I'll work up the courage to take it out to a bigger street.

It feels like it's going to be FAST

I get the same thing from my girlfriend. That 930 motor in a lighter car sounds like it's going to be a rocket. I can't wait until my swap is done.

...another convert! Now for a few thousand dollars extra we can increase this doohickey, add this item and produce another 0.2 Bar of boost... interested?

The addiction never stops, it only gets stronger.
