do I need the Lambda system on a 80 3.0L?

I'm replaceing my 77 2.7 with a 80 3.0L , the new engine does have the Lambda fuel dist. and all of the lambda componets except the O2 sensor. I also have the Lambda control box but no harness that would run into the car under the seat. Do I have to keep it inside the cabin?

Can I jumper something on the system so as not to add the control box or do I have to install it ? And what pins on the control box are needed in case I have to make a harness or where can I find the harness? I know other people out there has ran into the same problem, please I need your help.

Thanks
Rick

You can change the fuel dist. so that it doesn't have the frequency valve, then you don't need to connect the lambda control box.

Hey I am considering this idea my self. I am trying to wrap up my project now using an 81 sc engine in a 77. I think the lambda harnesses are the same used on some VWs but I am checking on that. Ruf-porsche nows his stuff listen to him.

you need it unless you backdate the FD and WUR to 78/79. otherwise you will have no power, just a sluggy running engine.

Thanks for the compliment Ben.

JW know this stuff better than me since this is what he does for a living, me I'm just like tinkering with cars, and computers.

And now spending time with my new daughter.
