Number of Porsches built by year
Is there an online reference?

Hmmm. Somehow a license plate proclaiming "1of16441" doesn't sound so exclusive.

Not sure how accurate, but I found this. You can probably navigate around to find your year… https://books.google.com/books?id=csh0GVAWxdoC&pg=PA74&lpg=PA74&dq=1989+por sche+911+production+numbers+by+year+usa&source=bl& ots=KSvdSntTDO&sig=ACfU3U08DeOZMvlkfRWVYRqmx1sNRbd 6qg&hl=en&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwi02PvcjJ_2AhUVsDEKHTL4B6 sQ6AF6BAggEAI#v=onepage&q=1989%20porsche%20911%20p roduction%20numbers%20by%20year%20usa&f=true

That is total of all models. Looking at the entry you picked (1987) it would break down by model as:
US Carrera 2916 US Club Sport 300 US Carrera Targa 2232 US Carrera Cabrio 2653 If yours is a Turbo then the numbers are much, much smaller... All numbers come from the Porsche 911 Red Book. |
Another interesting fact is Porsche have the highest percentage of vehicles produced that still go.
AND, the Porche 911 has won more races than any other car. |
