Help me make a tool kit for my SC
 

Hey everyone,

I am wanting to put together a tool kit to keep in my car, especially when I go on long drives. My SC didn't have the tool kit from the factory but I do have a jack/lug wrench.

What would be a good list of tools to keep in my frunk?

I already bought a spare fan belt but I need the fan pully wrench.

I was in the same boat and put together a basic kit in a small duffel.

-Fire extinguisher
-Breaker bar with sockets for wheel lugs and fan nut
- Viair air compressor
- Tire plug kit
- 4in1 screwdriver
-Wire snips (to pull nail from tire)
- LiPo jump box
- Fan belt
- Extra fuses and DME relay
- Small crescent wrench.

Add in a 20 inch piece of string trimmer line. Then practice slipping it under the catch for the gas flap. Just thread the line behind the catch and pull with both hands. Open the gas flap and look at the latch first. Then practice once or twice with the string. If the pull handle breaks, it is a real trip stopper with no way to fill up. It takes up no room to speak of, and weighs basically nothing, and is almost free.

Also add in a set of Tyvac painters coveralls. Something to keep you from getting really dirty laying on the ground if needed. Rubber gloves, mechanics gloves, and spark plug socket. A disposable rain coat and umbrella are optional.

Get a Porsche factory spark plug socket. That is the ONE tool that most recommend you not try and replace/duplicate with standard tools.

Add in the correct size hex socket to undo the bolts/screws that hold the skid plate on so the fuel pump can be accessed.

I know its a bit of a pain to pull the plugs with standard tools but I didnt find it that hard. Whats the difference between that and a Porsche one?

The tool for spark plugs is pretty genuine tool..work well....you need 10mm Alllen wrech for it in your tool kit

I did this too. Pretty much your list, but I also included a hex socket that fit the CV joint bolts, along with some ratchet extensions. I actually had to use this by the side of the road once when a CV came loose.

You need the special wrench to hold the fan pulley so you can loosen the fan nut to change the fan belt.

I also carry a decent scissor jack instead of the Porsche jack (I don't even have a Porsche jack), and the jack pad that slips in the jack receivers in the rockers so I can lift there with the scissor jack.

Thanks, looks like someone is grabbing the fan pully and sparkplug tool but they are on the list, I did buy the jack pad adaptor.

While trying to find a fan pulley wrench, I came up with this from my old KTM dirtbike, it's a rear shock spring adjuster, you can find them for $15-25 online, I do need to grind down the small nub a little bit but it'll work just fine.
