73.5 911T WUR wire dead

In the past someone changed from the external voltage regulator to the integrated one on the replacement alternator. In the process they just taped off the black wire (from the old VR) going to the relay that activates the WUR. So the WUR on this car has not had 12V to it for God knows how long.

Can anyone suggest an alternate wire nearby the WUR relay that is mounted on the same panel as where the old external regulator used to be? The factory did not want the WUR activated unless the motor was actually running. I still have the single wire WUR that takes its ground from the body of the WUR. I could just find a wire that is hot when the key is in the run position (fuel pump), hook it up to the relay, and call it a day but I am wondering if maybe there is a wire coming back from the alternator through the 14 pin connector that would be better to use. Thoughts?
