Wheel hub corrosion on '69 911T, anything to worry about?
Is this corrosion something to be concerned about? One hub is worse than the other.
I'm about to put new bearings in but wanted to make sure before I get those pressed in. ![]() ![]() ![]() Also check out this strange casting deformation? ![]()

After conferring with my mechanic, I have ordered new Porsche hubs.

Maybe I am missing something in the pictures, but I see only a little surface corrosion that will clean right off with a scotch bright pad, some cleaner and elbow grease.
Not sure you need new hubs. Here's my 69T hubs before and then after I gave them a blast of walnut shells. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Citron - I would make sure you get the old hubs back from your mechanic and keep them as spares are sell them. Your hubs didnt look that bad.
theTorch - those came out beautiful! |

With a 50 year old hub you should just have them crack tested no matter how nice they look. Or just replace them with zero-hour pieces.
