88 carrera throttle slugish

have and 88 carrera convertible and throttle rod is sticky in tunnel. how do i access this easily. think the bushing are probably bad like my old 72. do i have to remove console? Dosen,t appear to come out the rear, tried cleaning what i could reach. tks for any help.

Access is through the shift coupler cover plate on the rear and yes, console & shifter off to access the one at the front. You will most likely found the originals have become brittle, cracked and fallen off. If your car has AC, be careful when you remove the console as not to damage the AC capillary tube, it's delicate.

Tks 911, wasn,t what I wanted to hear but was kinda expecting this. Are these bushing the same as the old ones, clear plastic?

If my memory serves me, the Porsche originals I bought were clear to whitish color. And for what they are, pricey but hey, if you need them, you pay their price.
