Modifying 911 Muffler 911/1

I recently acquired this heavily abused 911/1 muffler by Bischoff. The muffler had some significant damage and poorly welded up in the past.
Decided to cut it apart and repair the outer shell, after removing it and the old welded junk, I hammered and dollied the dents out and tig welded in a new piece of metal at the former weld repair. From there the existing shell was rolled on the english wheel to remove and minor and superficial dings. With that done, I am thinking why not alter this into a two in and two out.

I am thinking of modifying this into a sport muffler, maybe the GT3 style so it fits between the rubber bumpers on the SC. I have spent a lot of time researching what to cut and what to drill and seem more confused then before I started. Could anyone advise what I can cut out to achieve this goal and if possible how much of the existing tubing can be removed, if any for weight savings?

Some photos of my progress thus far, again, just a fun project for me. Appreciate any input.

First photo is when I received the muffler.

Thanks, Jeff

There was an old article in Upfixen der Porsche from PCA that showed how to convert a stock muffler into a sport muffler. I'm sure if you search the internet you will be able to find it.
