Hi guys, can the 915 tranny's selector shaft seal be replaced with the tranny still in the car? I would hate to have to remove the engine/tranny just for that little seal!
Thanks Mike 86 Carrera t |

Yes, as long as it's '73 and later. The '72 915 requires the seal to go in from the inside if I recall correctly.

No, it's the input shaft seal on '72 AND early '73's that requires partial disassembly to replace!
Yes, the shift rod seal can be done in the car, and here is the Pelican Tech Article that tels how ... http://www.pelicanparts.com/techarticles/mult_shifter_rod_seal/mult_shifter_rod_seal.htm

Can someone help me with my shift shaft seal. I have been trying to pull the seal for a few day now and have had no success. I am following the directions from the tech article and the seal is not moving. I am using the cotter pin puller and a craftmans pick kit. My car is a 911 6/73. Please Help.
Thanks, Matthew 73 T |
