Danske fuel tank

What are the steps to prepare a new tank for install? Searched and didn’t see a thread on this. Curious before I keep trying to clean the rust out of my tank

Directions say to rinse inside with some sort of solvent to remove their preservative coating.

Are you just asking about functional steps? Or do you want it to look factory-correct as well?

I guess it’s just mineral spirits to clean the inside. I realize the outside is gets an under coating like the factory did. I’d like to better understand the functional steps. I believe the lines are all about the same as my 74 tank. Not positive the year of tank I have but I’ve got the little bowl inside the tank. My section in return on the bottom are 12mm.

The top breather outlet was too big on the one I used in my '79. Otherwise, it fit fine.

I've got one going into a '76 Targa resurrection. Plan on black stone guard all around, then light gray paint on the frunk side.
