removing windscreen

82 930. The normal process calls for the moulding strip to be removed first. But then reading several threads on it, I see one where Wayne says it is OK, in fact advisable, to leave the moulding strip in place, and work the inner lip free inside the car.
That would be much more desirable. Has anyone had real world experience doing it this way?
Thx
Alan

If the gasket is old and hard cut the lip off the inside carefully. If its less than 3 yesrs old use plastic scraper or trim tool and work the gasket from the top center while carefully pushing on the windshield.
If you take the molding off before removing windshield, you run a good chance of bending it!

Gasket not new - but hoping not to replace. Parts can be difficult to source. Big time delays.
For future ref - I managed to get it out intact. Pried the rubber top lip back - some vaseline, then a size 9 footprint on top of screen. Came away OK. I think I have done this before in the dim past - but could not remember. Makes it much easier for install.
