Who's driving the Sweatshop 935 at Daytona 24 in 83?

Its D24, 1983, This pic is from an article and forthcoming book on the career of RAndy Lanier. it apparently has everything. MJ, smuggling, money laundering, sex, fast cars, cheesy airplanes and boats from the carribean...... Sounds like an HST tale for the 80s. (Lanier in car in the rear)

One year they got AJ Foyt driving the Swap Shop car. I think they had Wollek too.

The winning Swap Shop 935 at Daytona in '83 was driven by Bob Wollek, Preston Henn, Claude Ballot-Lena, and AJ Foyt.

If you've never been to the actual "Swap Shop" flea market & movie theatre park in Ft. Lauderdale, I really recommend it if not for anything else but just for the car collection, you can get up close to some of his cars that have raced & personal vehicles

In the photo at top, the second car in line is an Avanti II, the continuation of the original Studebaker Avanti.

Great photo and great memories. My good friend (and still is) and I somehow got our parents’ permission to miss high school classes for a day or two, drove to FL from Kinston, NC in his mom’s Catalina with an Escort detector facing forward and experimented with a friend’s Fox detector facing backwards, got a room at the Holiday Inn near I-95 at Ormond Beach exit, and attended the 1983 D24. My friend influenced me & turned me onto sports cars, and that’s never left me since. We had a blast in the garages and witnessed some beautiful cherry red 935 turbos glowing at night... Remember, there was very little (almost none) lighting up the track. Just headlights and dim tail lamps, lol.

My family used to visit Pompano Beach (next to Ft. Lauderdale). At some point I realized the Swap Shop was right there and being a Preston Henn fan just had to go see it. At that time it was basically a flea market. I remember a shell of a 935 was up on the roof of one of the buildings!
