Help: 3.2 AFM Archaeology Dig

Finally bit the bullet and pulled out my AFM to diagnose whether the deadspot I get at 2-3k RPM was due to a worn track.

The cover has clear silicone on it indicating someone's been in here. So I was able to pull it off fairly drama-free, and lo and behold, the tracks don't appear to be excessively worn? At least compared to some of the other threads on here where it's worn through down to the white portion of the board.

Here are pictures of mine. Note how the tracks don't appear to be overly worn however the red portion's tracks do appear wider than the rest. Can anyone advise if this AFM looks like it's been fiddled with previously? There is also some silicone on the screw holding the wiper track assembly (but maybe that was just spillage?). Does the worn sticker indicate anything?

Picture of the evening's activities, I was only planning on replacing a taillight gasket.

If it were me, I would be sending it to our host for a refurb unit.

I did this not too long ago, along with cleaning and recleaning ICV. Mine were a tad be more worn, but after changing the geometry to establish a new path, and using emory cloth to clean up the contacts, RPM was cleaner throughout the range. Not a major difference, but certainly noticeable.

Years ago I took mine apart. I moved the board I think attempting to get the feelers to run in a new track. I don't think yours are worn much. Sal Carcellar knows - he might chime in.

Retracked the AFM, cleaned the icv, and torqued the intake manifold nuts and first drive out it's like a brand new car.

2-3k rpm dead spot is gone, pulls hard the entire way, and cold drivability restored. All the better when total cost was only a can of throttle cleaner.
