hiding wiring after console delete

I am removing the console from my '83 Targa, and wonder if there is a reason I can't tuck the wiring for the a/c and fader behind the passenger footboard. I have removed and stored the compressor and hoses, but want to keep things simple if a future owner wants to re-install the system. Should I pull a/c fuses as well?

That's exactly what I did. Removed the switches and knobs from the console, wrapped them in a plastic bag, coiled the wires and tube and tucked them behind the floorboard and pulled the A/C fuse
