911SC - Performance Tires for Rallies/Autocross

Did some forum searching but figured I'd try to get more recent recommendations. I'm looking for a performance tire for my 911sc Targa. I usually participate in a few rallies each year and well as spirited driving a couple times a week--the vast majority of time in dry conditions. During the winter, I only take it out when the weather and temp is decent (high 40s/low 50s and sunny).

Some friends suggested the Bridgestone RE71RS or the Toyo R1R but I'm not sure the bridgestones will be available in time--need them for an early June rally.

How does the forum like the R1Rs or do you have other recs? Tire Rack recommends the Conti ExtremeContact Sport...

Just looking for advice, thanks!

For most of your requirements the Conti ECS will be your best bet. I'm on my third set and love them, averaging ~ 10k miles of aggressive driving. Have done both track days and autocross on them and they perform great.

ECS's after a day of hot laps at Chuckwalla -

If you get serious about autocross you will want more aggressive tires (I have a list of the top 5 if your interested). Depending on your class, you may be limited to 200 treadwear tires, I am.

I recently setup a set of 15" 7&8's just for autocross with Falken RT 660's

I Too am a fan of the Conti ECS, fantastic feed back to the driver .
I have them on my 2007 997 TT , I'm just about to go to my third set .
I also have them on one of my 1980 Sc's.
I have run the Firestone INDY 500 on another 911 sc with 16" wheels and find them fantastic . I would be happy to run them again. 205/550/16 and 225/50/16 rear
All of my cars and my students cars run on the track as well as daily drivers on the street
My favorite Tire is on the 15" wheels as a 205/60/15 frnt and 225/60/15 rear
They are minivan tires . The most fun longest lasting and handle well.
