Long oil pipes under rocker cover

I'm trying to replace the oil lines under the sill (rocker covers in the US) as someone in the past has replaced them with rubber hydraulic hoses.

My car is a 1986 Targa and apparently at that point they introduced the jacking pads on the chassis floor. I've ordered some OEM Dansk parts here in the UK and they don't have a kink in the tube at the forward end to allow it to go round the jacking point. Has anyone experienced a similar problem with their '86 on car and if so how was it overcome? Or does anyone have photos of their pipes in the fitted position, again for an '86 on car.

The part number for the oil pipe is 930 207 046 03. The erarlier cars had the 046 01 part fitted but that has now been superceeded by the 03 part.

I'm waiting for Porsche to come back to me confirming that their part does have this kink at the forward end.

I've attached photo of an '88 car (not my car btw) showing this bend to get round the jacking point

Any advice would be welcomed.

Did you receive the lines yet? If not I wouldn’t worry about it until you get them.

Yes, I've bought the Dansk OEM parts. The supplier says he's never had any problems with them and he's been supplying them for many years.

My local Indy won't fit them but I'm wondering if other fitters just bend them to make them fit. Don't fancy trying as the tube could flatten.

The dansk lines I got had the kink in one line for the jack support. The other one is straight.

They don't fit great, like every other part you buy they need a lot of tweaking. But better than hose!!!

But I have to ask - are you sure that's not a picture of the AC hose you've posted? (EDIT - Re-read your post, and I was totally off track, sorry!! I was thinking of the jacking point not the lift support. I don't think they will arrive with the kink. The good news is they will bend with a bit of map gas. You'll have a bit of a time with them regardless.

Good luck!

You should be able to bend to fit, like last post use some map gas.

NOT TRUE! This thin wall tube will just collapse. It must be done with a Mandrel bender and during the initial bending process. This is not possible now.

Purchase the correct product only.
