Last Weekend Autocross

My friend flew in from Utah, and we both drove my car at the Redwood Region Autocross. Way too much fun. Including practice laps we got 12 laps each. At about 46sec each that's about 18.4 minutes of track time for my baby. My best time of the day was 45.117sec. With the PAX correction factor my best was 41.002.

The best time of the day was 38.0xx in a race prepped 600-720 hp 996 turbo beast. They cranked the boost up to max on one run and went sideways all the way down the front straight slalom!

The big suprise to me was a 912 that went like stink. This guy got times in the 40.x range! I noticed while watching him on the long slalom that he was going nearly straight from cone to cone and snapping off the throttle as he turned past each one. This had the effect of inducing the tail around a bit and pointing him directly at the next cone. It was brilliant, elegant, beautiful, and obviously much faster than my line.
