Does anyone make a complete kit to backdate heat on an '83 911SC?
 

I'm looking to back date the heat on my '83 SC to earlier style. I will be doing SSI's shortly after.

Does anyone make a comprehensive kit of everything needed to do the conversion?

I have been doing some research and it looks like I will need left and right ducts to the sides of the fan, additional hoses, and apparently certain parts of the engine tray need to be replaced?

Will that work for me? I am trying to do it as clean as possible using factory parts. If a kit doesnt exist for an SC, could someone post the list of individual part numbers to do it?

There is no earlier style after the 74 model year
Go directly to SSI.
All you can do with the 83 is a cat replacement and maybe a noisy muffler

I did a heat backdate on my '83 targa a few months ago. All you need are the following:

Very straight forward install, no need to replace or modify engine tray.

For my '81, I used just the left and right fan shroud plates. The ducting went through the factory holes in the engine tray and connected to my factory heat exchangers.

You can do an SSI with a dual in, single out muffler. Be advised not smog legal in many states

Instead of buying the Cat-10 hose, can you use the stock hoses that run down to the heat exchangers to attach to the new L & R shrouds? Or is the tubing diameter different than stock?

I believe I initially tried the stock hoses but the one on the right split/ripped so I pulled it and used the CAT-10...

I did an 83 this last year. Very straight forward once you have the pieces in hand. The fit on the block off tins needed some massaging but over all a worthwhile mod imo.

its so easy Pelican has the 2 parts and the ducting you can get on amazon. Not sure why you'd be worried about snapping anything it's literally like 6 screws and you're done.

Heat is way better than the factory on my 83 now. And so much room to move, no clue why I didn't do this earlier...
