Could be the dumbest question ever....(floor mat)

Yeah....this is embarrassing. I took the drivers carpets out when troubleshooting a cruise control problem. Now I cannot recall how the straps on the floorboard carpets are threaded through the metal hook. Anyone got a picture of that?

Thanks

You have to press the carpet onto the hooks such that they (the hooks) protrude through the slits in the carpet. Then you thread the straps upwards through the hooks.

So the straps just go up through the hooks once?

I know this thread is old, but I’d love to see a photo of this area. A PO of my car seems to have bent either one or both of the upper steel tabs into different shapes and I’m not sure what shape is correct.

Not knowing how the carpet strap is supposed to fasten makes it hard to guess the correct shape of the steel tabs!

Thanks Iceman! Same colour carpet and everything! I think one of my tabs has been bent straight, looks like yours bent down 90° at the front.
