Removing Paint On Tail Light Lenses
I want to remove the fading black paint that borders my tail light lenses (84 3.2L) and repaint, but haven’t come up with a good way to strip off the paint without harming the plastic. Acetone helps, but it’s very slow going. Anyone have a recommendation? Thanks.

I used acetone to remove the loose stuff and painted over what wouldn’t come off.

Don't risk corrosive chemicals. Instead, treat the old paint as base by carefully sanding at about 220 grit to even the edging of black into a nice surface. Hot water and Dawn dishsoap, full dry, then tape and paint over.
