Daily Driver Stock 964 16in tire queery - Conti, Pirelli, Yokohama

Hi all

Daily driver of a stock 964C4 here. Drive year round in CT and use Conti DWS06 on my "winter wheels" which are Fuchs manholes (928 style). I like um plenty.

I am one of the weirdos who loves the simple, light 16in D90s the car came with and I'm pondering what tires to put on them as not-winter-wheels. I want to stick to the stock sizes 205/55/16 + 225/50/16

The boring answer is another set of Conti DWS06 since they seem to do just about everything well. Other thoughts are:

go full summer. If i'm honest with myself most of my miles qualify as touring not floggin it (daily driver) so I'm not positive on that. Conti Extreme Contacts

go full touring - I really don't know what to make of these Pirelli P7, any experience?

go somewhere in the middle, try a different set of performance all seasons. price is right on these Yokohama Advan

Am I missing something? I tend to stick to the big Euro/Japanese brands since they've worked in the past. My searches aren't showing anything else enticing in that stock size I want to stick to.

If you are just daily driving, and not thrashing it, I would go with the Yokohamas, due to price point, and tread wear.

This here, not the all season version, I just installed a set on my 89 and they're awesome.

Big fan of the Michelin Pilot Sport All Seasons (3s, now 4s). I daily my SC year round in the UK where we get plenty of garbage weather tho not as cold as the northeast. I too am not throwing the car around a track or going 10/10ths, but I spend a good bit of time blasting around the B-roads and they're plenty grippy for anything I throw at it while also having a great treadwear rating.

+1 on the Pilot Sport All Season 4s. I bought the all seasons because I drive early Spring to late Fall here in Michigan and Summer tires lose their compliance in the cold. —Dave
