Wiring routing - best routes from engine to dash?

Running some wires for gauges and wanted to hear from others that have done it already.

Is passenger's side of engine into the tunnel the best way to go?

1987 car if that helps.

Looking further, it seems driver's side of engine might be a better choice, down past the rear fuel pump and into the tunnel.

Did same a while ago. Had a spare existing passageway in the bulkhead between the tunnel and engine bay where the rest of the stuff makes passage... so used that spare hole. Not sure why it was "spare." Need to think about how not to get wiring tangled up or interfering with anything in tunnel. I used an endoscope to keep the wiring in the clear. In my '80 in the engine bay, there's a gap between the shock's cross beam and the tub ahead of it. I ran my wiring down through there to the tunnel's entrance hiole.

Follow the ECU harness from the engine past the fuel pump using the existing hole / grommet on driver's side then follow the wire bundle up through to the frunk then dash.
