Porsche Crest Fuel Pump Substitute ??

I am wondering if anyone has used the newer style "Flow-Through" Bosch Fuel Pump as used with the SC and Carrera 3.2 as a substitute for the early chassis fuel pump on a MFI model?

The Original style 3 way pump....

is made in China and is over $600.

Really prefer to use the newer Bosch pump from our host at $125.

As long as the MFI Pressure Regulator at the Filter Console still works I see no reason not to try this.

This will eliminate the "Y" or "T" connection and simplify the hose layout. One concern is where to put the "Restrictor" shown in the flow diagram at the return next to the Tank.

Is this really needed?

Any thoughts from the experts?

Len

Surprised you didn't get an answer the first time!

The 3.2 Carrera Fuel pump is a perfect replacement for that pump and readily available from Bosch for $100 or so (2019 prices so probably $200 now)

I use one on my 3.2 MFI - the third nipple (still working on a limeric about this) isn't needed because the pressure relief is built in to the flow-through pumps. As you surmise the "t" into the return isn't needed and neither is the restrictor. I get 12psi at the MFI pump fuel chamber using the factory fuel pressure valve/controller.
