Updating a 70 to 993 instruments

I am updating my 70 to a newer set of instruments from a 95. Does anyone have a detailed pin location for each instrument? I do realize that the newer set have many wires that won’t be used. I am updating the speedometer to a electronic one as wellhttp://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1653933958.jpg

I think I have some handwritten notes for most of the 964/993 gauges. I'll check this evening.

The 964 fuel/oil level gauge will not work in an early car and you will need to change the temp and pressure senders on the engine to work with 964 combo gauge.

What ignition do you have in your 70? You'll also want to make sure you're not sending a high voltage signal to the 964 tach.

I’ve upgraded the engine to a 95 3.6 and I am using a Patrick Motorsport’s wiring harness adapter

OK.. so the 964 temp/pressure gauge and the tach should be fine. The fuel/oil gauge is going to be your only issue.

The 964 fuel level sender isn't the simple resistance-based float sensor like the pre-90 cars and I'm not aware of any easy way to drive the 964 fuel gauge from the 911 sender.

The 964 oil level gauge should work, but as I recall, the 964 oil level sender has a slightly different resistance range so your gauge may not too accurate at one end of the scale. I'd need to find my notes to confirm this.

I appreciate it.. many thanks
