82 911sc heat exchanger removal

Hello All,

I am in the midst of removing my heat exchangers and exhaust in prep of my new ssi's. Got the exhaust off and all the nuts and barrel nuts onto the manifold with little trouble (phew). The heat exchanger flanges seem to be stuck to the exhaust ports - shouldn't they just drop off?

Any suggestions as how to persuade them off? - tap with cold chisel at the joint?

Apologies - I tapped with nail puller and managed to wrestle it off.
