G body sports seats and rails

I have seen rails being listed as sport seat rails. If your car came with factory sport seats lets say in 1980, are the rails that the seat adjusts on different than comfort seats? I ask because I have sports seats with no rails and was hoping they would just bolt up. Thanks

When I installed my sport seats I just removed the rails on my comfort seats and used them.

My 79 comfort seat rails fit on 81-84 sport seats.

I bought 944 rails (because they're all the same rails between 924, 944, 928 & 911) but "lesser" rails used to be $30 on Flea Bay instead of $100+ for 911 rails - and used them on both my comfort and sport seats.

Later cars may have switched to M8 bolts at some point - but I think the earlier use M6?

I just swapped my comfort seats for a pair of sport seats on my 74 911s - the rails were identical for both seat types.
