Leaking Windshield - Drain Hole Question

My windshield leaks in the lower right hand corner (Drivers Side). Here's the question. Is it ok for water to get into the windshield channels. I mean is it expected and are there drain holes in there that could be plugged?

I did seal the windsheild rubber seal contact point with silicon all around the entire windshield on Friday. It slowed the water down, but did not stop it.

I can get a new windshield gasket / seal from pelican for $50 am I just better off replacing the old one ratherthan trying to find the leak?

Any thoughts

No it is not ok. There is no windshield drain. When you put the new gasket in you are supposed to seal both sides of the gasket with sealer. I think it is a urathane.

These seals are notorious for mysterious leaks. Have it replaced by a knowledgeable shop. Yes it should be sealed upon installation.
My former 84 would actually allow the water from a rainshower to visibly enter at the center of the dash at speed. They shrink over the years.......

Do _not_ use a urethane sealer on a 911 windshield gasket. Those are windshield glues, not sealers, and are intended for modern windshields that need to be glued in place for the passenger-side airbag to deploy properly. What you want is 3M Window Weld.
