Clutch fork on throw out bearing

I installed my new motor yesterday in my 71 911E and everything went smoothly except……
I can’t get the shifting fork go onto the throw out bearing. I’m able to use my finger through the trans case and turn the throw out bearing but I’m not sure exactly how to do it. Any help would be appreciated
Thanks,
Mark

as you slide the trans onto the engine pull the cable end of the fork towards the front of the car, now rotate the bearing so the flats clear the fork, then rotate the bearing so the fork lines up with ears of the bearing. release the fork, spring tension will now hold the bearing in place.

Ed,
Thanks for the quick reply. The trans is already in the car and the motor has been bolted to the trans already. Is it possible to do this while both are tightened?
Thanks,
Mark

Hi Ed,
I went out this morning and tried what you said……it worked perfectly.
Thank you,
Mark
