Plug for 1970 911 body panel

Anyone know what to use to plug the seatbelt bolt access hole in an F series 911? Mine is 1970.

Unless I'm mistaken that's where the jacking point goes.

Shown here with half a pound of New Mexico sand.

Is that a bolt I see in the hole? Find the function of that bolt and you’ll have your answer for why there’s a hole and whether or not you can fill it…. Then again, a trip to the hardware store and a $1 will see a plastic plug make quick work of that hole.

There is a hole on both sides of the car in the exact same place. It's an access hole for the lower seat belt pivot. I used it to install new seat belts. It is there from the factory as there is no other way to get at the bolt. And the original seat belt was anchored in the same spot.

Nope, seat belt is anchored to the seat rail bracket.

Do you have a pic? The car had 4 point harness when I got it. Where is the original belt bolted. I don't see place on the bracket. It also has aftermarket seats.

It’s a small bracket that mounts between the seat itself and the sliders

Not the safest construction out there and most likely why you see the modification on your car

That explains it. I'll find a plug after I get done rust proofing it. It had plugs before so rust is only surface type.

Some of the early cars had a nut welded into the inside rocker for mounding the seat belt if the car came with the optional retractable belts. You may want to check under the carpet on the rocker panel toward the rear of the door opening. Mine did not have that nut, so I added one.

Mine doesn't have that either. I installed the retractable shoulder belts using the stock hole/nut on the B pillar and the hole/nut in the rear wheel well, the replaced the eyeloop on the rocker panel with the with the seat belt lower bolt and nut. Here is the finished product.
