Newbie distributor questions

Hi all,
Newbie here.
I'm diving in to doing my first tuneup on my 1970 911T Targa and reviewing YouTube videos, etc. On one video I learned that my (Bosch) distributor has a traditional rotor, instead of the ("correct") rpm-limited rotor - p/n 911-602-928-00. I also found that the inside of the distributor should have a dust cover - p/n 901-602-927-00 - which mine doesn't have.
How important are these items - the rpm-limited rotor and the dust cover?
Thanks in advance,
Gary

Rotor not so important unless u spend all your time at the rev limit. Dust cover keeps points cleaner from carbon fallout inside the cap. If u keep your points clean not so important.
Clean points: open points with small screwdriver. Make small folds in a piece or note paper, slip between points, release points, move paper around, open points with small screwdriver, remove paper and observe dirt. Occasionally lube points block, check gap or dwell, check timing.

I personally would not drive a 911 with out a rev limiter. But it is your motor.
