Door Pocket Repair (on the cheap)
I have already posted the repair of my drivers door interior hardboard panel and this is a continuation of that project by refurbish/repair the door pocket. The door pocket screw holes were broken and I had a crack in the molded open area of the pocket.
I peeled back the glued carpet and the glued leather where the pocket was damaged. I used a mesh with black clips to cover where the damaged areas. ![]() ![]() Filled the mesh with JB Weld at the damaged areas. ![]() ![]() ![]() Used light layer of bondo to cover the mesh and smooth out the repairs. Used 3m satin black rattle can to recolor the pocket. Used Contact cement to re-glue the carpet and leather and the black clips to hold the material to the pocket. Dyed the leather strip and cleaned the carpet. Just need to re-drill the holes and reinstall into the car. ![]() ![]()
