Oil on fan and housing
Following a rebuild my 1976 911 fan seems to be picking up engine oil from somewhere. I assume it is pulling air up and over the oil cooler or is it pushing air over the oil cooler?
Just trying to work where it is getting the oil from! Cheers Jack |

Pulley seal below the fan is suspect. Sometimes the leak is between the case and the #8 main bearing.

For the seal, no. For the bearing to case area, yes. Clean, blow dry and use a bright flashlight when it's running to try to see where it's leaking.

Just looking through the receipts and an undersized number 8 90110113853 fitted.
Should this have a different (undersized seal) fitted? |

Just on the crank side, 0.25. Same seal.

Well a few more heat cycles and no obvious leak. Hopefully just bedding in drama!
