Stripped knee pad threaded post

Any recommendations on a repair here? I'm guessing a die won't work to restore the missing threads. Do these posts screw out or do I need to chisel it out and jbweld a new one in?

Thanks all!

That one looks threaded in, like a stud.

I don’t have a knee pad so not sure of the metal structure involved beyond the metal mounting bracket shown. I would dremmel cut it flush, drill out remaining, add a new bolt/stud. If its a big deal cutting/tapping this stripped stud, should be enough room under dash to slip in a spacer and utilize the remaining good threads at the top of that stud to tighten down.

It looks like you have some decent threads at the end of the stud. If so, you can just throw on a couple extra flat washers, so it grips nearer the end of the stud. It does not have to be super tight on the end if the other one is really good and can be tightened.
