FEBI - anyone running their timing chains?
Am considering getting into FEBI timing chains. Thought to solicit input on them before pulling the trigger. This brand is part of the Bilstein Group. While that says something, I'd prefer knowing others are running these chains without issue---or with issue if that's the case.

I'm gonna take that as a no :-)
I've used a number of Febi parts on my old Mercedes and been satisfied. That said, what could go wrong should a timing chain fail? |

Chain fail... fine word for that happening is 'catstrophic.' 'Expensive' also comes to mind. Basically sycronization between the valves and pistons comes to an end. So lots of things crashing about. That's not to mention what the loose chain will do. . |
Karl,
You've always been a risk taker and an experimenter- before I opened this post I was sure you were going to go for it! |
Febi, a known good brand and OE supplier. Why are you asking? Only part available or 5 bucks cheaper?

My favorite price point comparison... our idle control valve. One can buy these anywhere from $1,100 to $47. (There's not much inside these.) |
You will be fine with a Febi chain. Good/Great products. Iwis is likely the gold standard, but nothing wrong with a Febi what so ever.
And yes, I hear you on the ISV question.... :) I totally get your question, just asking for clarity. Cheers |

Damm fine message/website. Most of all: fine story about you & Dad. PS - Febi chains ordered. Input appreciated :) . |
I put some new Febi chains in a 2.7 build around 10 years ago, lots of revs later still good
