PPF on old paint
I was chatting with a detailer over the weekend and he said he would never install PPF on a car as old as mine (1983 SC). He was saying that the PPF will likely destroy the paint when it comes time to remove it.
Does anyone have any experience with PPF on our older paint? Paint in question below!

I've heard the same. One thing I've been considering is PPF on the windshield, hopefully to prevent chips and cracks.

Do you know if that's the same for a vinyl wrap? Probable a dumb question but I am far from a paint expert. I wouldn't mind wrapping mine for a change in color before I actually paint it.

I’m planning on having PPF installed on my 964 and I’m not too concerned about it. If the car doesn’t spend lots of time outdoors and you change the PPF within 7-10 years I don’t see it being an issue. Instead of asking a detailer you might ask the PPF guys what they think.
I do know that if its not original paint you do have more risk of removing paint when taking the PPF off, especially if the paint prep wasn’t done properly but then you’ll have other issues with that too.
