Light weight Seat Mount weight savings

Light weight Seat Mount weight savings.

I'm in the process of installing Recaro 911ST seats in my car. I bought some light weight seat mounts and was curious on the weight savings.

My LW Seat Mounts weigh only 1.8 lbs.

Standard Recaro Seat Mounts for aftermarket seats weigh 6.1 lbs.

This weight is per seat, so it makes a difference.

I've not weighed the Porsche factory sport seat seat mounts, but I've heard that they are very heavy.

Sharing another data point for weight savings.

That is some weight savings. Are these lightweight ones as strong as the heavier ones like the Recaros?

Probably not. I will find out when I install the seats.

I hope there isn't flex.

I'd be thinking more about what happens in the unfortunate event of an accident, especially side or rear accidents, where the seat (and its attachment) is all you got.
