What kind of gas tank is this?
I'm working with Len to rehab the fuel lines on my new to me 911L and he asked for pics for all of the fuel line runs. The car has always had Weber 40s on it so just a single line running back from the tank. Anyone know what the plugged end is for? Is this a tank from a later model? Thanks!

The plug at the bottom of the fuel tank is the tank fuel filter. Use a 22-mm hex or 7/8” hexagonal head bolt (double nut) to remove this plug.

One thing's for sure--it's not from a long hood car, as they never used the compact/collapsed spare tire.

If you want more volume and don't care about originality, it will fit fine. The blocked off hose went to the fuel pump mounted behind the tank. That's the proper outlet.

![]() ![]() Unfortunately this is using the Return fitting, not the supply, so no benefit of the factory screen filter that is inside. Len ![]() |
