Gas smell in car
I have a 1970 911T that has been converted to MFI with a single fuel pump in the rear.
The hoses from the tank to the firewall look new and also the hoses from the rear firewall to the pump look new. I do not have any gas smell coming from the frunk or from the engine compartment. When I open the car doors, I can definitely smell gas. Any ideas on where to start? I have two return lines coming from the pump and both terminate at the rear firewall with clamps. I assume there is a metal bridge there and somewhere the two return lines get converted to a single return since that is what comes out of the front firewall, a single return to the tank. Is there a Y somewhere inside the tunnel? Thanks. |

Check for fuel in the tunnel or at the tank exit

All the fuel vapor system has been removed and plugged so it's not the source of the leak. It appears I need to go inside the car and inspect the lines in the tunnel since the only smell is coming from inside the car. I'll update on what I find.
