Another heat exchanger Q

I have noticed a lot of SSI questions lately so sorry for yet another. I just bought my first 911 first of all! I bought a 1981 Euro SC from someone on this board, and I feel I got a very fair price for a well taken care of car. I am factoring in $1500 extra with the purchase of the car for body work (two dents), and extras. The heat exchangers are in ok shape. They appear to have some rust, but look like they will last at least a few more years. Is it worth it to spend the $1000 it will cost for the SSI's now, or spend the money on other things. I have heard that SSIs don't add all that much to the Carerra's, but what is the addition with SC's (Euros specifically). Thank you in advance for any advice.

A friend of mine put SSI's on his SC. He said it really woke the thing up. His is a Euro also.

You should be able to round up SSI's for around $800 and install them yourself. It's a good bonding experience for you and the new car.

Putting on backdated SSIs was the best thing I could have done for my SC. What a difference. I don't think I could ever go back. I wish I would have done it sooner!
