Houston area peeps...

Friend just bought an SC in the Houston area and looking for someone/ some shops to get some work done...(needs seats pulled out for recovering, it has a hard start symptom which i think is a fuel reservoir issue, and other basic maintenance.
Any suggestions?

>> he said he is near Spring Branch/ Memorial area which i think is west of downtown near where Sam Houston tollway crosses I-10...

There are several qualified shops in the area, but I would recommend Rennsport in Sealy and Einar's Garage inside the loop.

I have used both Rennsport and Einar’s over the years for my 82 SC and my daughter’s 07 Cayman. Can easily vouch for both of them. Einar’s is way more convenient and the original owner of Rennsport passed away a couple of years ago.

My go to mechanic for my air-cooled is Warren/Rennsport in Sealy. Honest, affordable and even lets me bring my own parts.
Only issue is the distance to Sealy but hey I get to drive the car!

I've used Modern Aircooled and Einar's. You can PM me for my thoughts on those two.

Someone recommended this shop also but I can't speak personally to them.

Marc, I agree with everything the above guys said. ...only thing is everyone is busy so if he's in a hurry, prep him.

@Marc,

For the seats he could just go to Michelangelos for re cover. That is the place that most shops mentioned above will send them. Those guys can likely handle taking the seats out if he just wants to deal with them directly. The other option is Sublime Heights.
