3.0 SC Vacuum Hose Connections - question

Just wanting to confirm vacuum connections on a 3.0SC motor.

I’m not 100% fluent in vac connections and when this car came to me, it was running a little rough and not everything was connected.

In short. I looked at the pic from Jims Basement Workshop

My throttle body has 4 vacuum ports. But we do not have a diverter valve (8) or EGR valve (7).
If we call the Front (front of car) of throttle body the face against the firewall, then the REAR of the throttle body will be nearest the tail of the car.

WUR is number 0438140089 in case it is relevant.

So I have connected
Front Top - distributor
Front Bottom - decel valve, (t-piece) then thermo valve, then bottom of WUR
Rear Top - top of WUR
Rear Bottom - unused…

I’m a little fuzzy on vacuum, but I think the distributor port leads to a hole in the bore ABOVE the butterly.. so there is no vacuum (or advance) at idle.. but then as the throttle is opened and the butterly goes above the hole, it then creates vacuum in that port.. is that correct?

Also the line that leads to the decel valve, I believe is constant vacuum as it is further down the bore of the throttle body?
And the REAR Top port is always atmospheric as it is always above the plate and goes to the top port of the WUR…

Am I correct to plug the REAR Bottom port?

here's a video of my trying to explain out loud what I think is correct...

Any advice appreciated.

Throttle Body Vacuum Connections.........

Mike,

Sorry for not responding to you last night. I used to remember all these vacuum connections by heart but as you get older the memory becomes less reliable and have to rely now using my old notes or referring to my manuals.

The good news, is that all your vacuum connections are correct. Verified and confirmed after reviews from my notes and a couple of motors sitting in the garage. You are good.

Tony
