Chin Spoiler??
My 1986 Cabrio has a "club" rear spoiler which is a Porsche part and body color matching.
The car doesn't have a front chin spoiler. Today I was told that it is dangerous to drive at high speeds without a chin spoiler because the otherwise the rear end will be too heavy in proportion to the front, causing potential steering issues. Is this true? Why would my car not have come with a chin spoiler? I heard the front and rear are sold together. One other thing, my deck lid has no Carerra script. Should it have, or would it have been removed in lieu of the spoiler? Sorry for the long post.

If you drive your 911 over 100kmph for any distance then yes you need a chin spoiler otherwise your car may feel unstable.
Mine also was missing the chin spoiler but did have the whale tail when I bought it. There were no holes in the valance for the chin spoiler so its possible that a) It never had one b) It was removed and a new valance was placed on Spoilers can be bought after market so its possible to buy one or both. Yes you should have the Carrera script on the engine cover even with the spoiler. However its personal choice whether you want it or not. Many here remove their script for a cleaner look (me included). Finally dont forget there's a search function here that will help you answer most of your questions. There's heaps on chin spoilers including fitment procedures, and also there's posts about where the script should be located (measurements) on the tail if you do decide to put one on. Cheers Mark

I picked up a chin spoiler for my SC for $170 from Vertex. The best price I've seen. Email them and ask if they have anymore at this price. They were great to work with.

Randy-thanks for the recommendation. $170 vs $239. If it were close I would have chosen Pelican of course.

My experience:
120 MPH with Carrera tail and no chin spoiler-VERY light in the front. No feedback from wheel. Just hangin' on. Tail + chin spoiler- Nailed to the road at 120. Very stable. Amazing difference.

I have a 6 month old spoiler attached to a 6 month old valance. Both in near-perfect condition. The valance is solid (no holes as I like the no foglites look.)
