Door striker and hinge bushing questions

Hey everyone,

I have the striker problem that seems to be fairly common and of course, my hinge bushings are worn too, I have a small amount of sag in my doors.

1. Will the Rennline striker reinforcement fix this or is this beyond a simple repair and will need body shop assistance?

2. I can't seem to find a good hinge bushing vid or tutorial, is this a somewhat easy project or are special tools required?

Door open.

Door half closed, you can see the striker assembly fall into the door.

I figured I could knock out both items at once. I do plan to get the car painted at some point and this might be best to leave at the body shop to repair, I would just like to get the car "right" as much as I can to save time and money.

Thanks,

Bushing the door should be done by an experienced shop, in my estimation, as the inserted bushings need to be reamed to fit, and the door should be removed beforehand.

Your "door strike" is actually the door check, and should be reinforced if fractured. If the door panel is actually broken then a different solution is required.

You're right, I meant door check. Maybe it's something I'll have a B/S fix at the same time.

Buy the kit and try it. I did my drivers door last year and it’s working great. Plan on the better part of 4 hours to do each door if you loose the bracket inside the door frame like I did. Later, I found a video recommending string.
