Okay got it, thanks!

I'll pull the distributor tomorrow to see where along the path I'm losing continuity. Any way to test the internal connections at the distributor with probes, i.e., jamming the probes in there to get 600 ohms?

Yes, the female pins (upper/lower of green wire) of the connector going to the CDI.

Sorry I meant the distributor body itself. Im seeing an open circuit at the pins in the harness for the distributor. I just want to see if there's a way to check the distributor itself for internal damage.

Edit: By the way, thanks a ton for the information. From previous searches I hadn't come across the note of what resistance to expect across the distributor wires.

I should change the thread title to "burn URO to the ground."

I haven't run the car yet as I have errands to do first, but some goomba must have tested the distributor connection at the factory with male spade connectors that were too thick. The female spades in the green wire were spread out and weren't touching the distributor connections at all. I disassembled the connector, squished the terminals and put it back together. Voila, 580 ohms on the wire.

Don't want to speak too soon but hopefully that's it. Thanks again, Dave, for your help!

Edit: yep, fired right up on the first revolution!
