Sportomatic stuck in gear

Hi new to forum , I’ve a 1969 Porsche 911T Sportomatic which has now stuck in gear twice , I’ve released it by removing the cover plate , dumping the oil and manually moving the selector into position.
What can be causing this and what could be the long term fix ?
Thanks in advance
David

The first thing to check is the contacts at the base of the shifter handle. They have to be set at the correct spacing so that when you pull the shifter you engage the clutch. Second, check the bushings on shifter down in the tunnel. if they are worn (or in pieces like mine) it is an easy fix and gets all the slop out.
