Wheel Porn

How come I can’t find a “Wheel porn” posts?

Fuchs Full Polish Clear coated, 7x16 & 8x16s. Held on with Titanium Lug-nuts. Wrapped with Toyo R1R’s.I sound like a Bring-a-trailer writer, with Toyo R1R’s.

I just picked up my fully polished Fuchs 7x16’ and 8x16’.h

I got them from HRE directly. I'm a mechanical engineer and specify/analyze bolted joints for a living and these are somewhat custom in that they are flanged 12-points (like EWB 0420s if anyone knows what those are). Rather than re-invent the wheel (no pun intended), I contacted HRE.

I actually did this a few years ago (~2017) and at the same time changed my 8x16s in the front to 8x17s. To do that, of course, I needed new wheel halves. I contacted HRE thinking this would be simple and cheap and it was neither. The specific wheel halves they used for the Fuchs replicas were a little non-standard (not sure if it was # of screws, etc.) but...they told me that had a skid out in the warehouse somewhere with what little was left from this production many years earlier. So, they went and inventoried that skid of stuff and sent that info to me. I picked out the wheel halves I needed to get the width and offset I needed in the front (got lucky that they had the specific ones I needed) and then ordered them. They were much more expensive than I thought they would be. When they shipped them, they sent me new fasteners. We also discussed the required torque and I have that somewhere.

I will dig through my notes and see what I can find.
