Lakewell upholstery opinions please

I am about to pull the trigger on ordering a set of new leather covers for my 74 targa from Lakewell and would appreciate any comments from those who have ordered and installed the covers themselves
Seems like the euro makes these a decent deal for US customers
Quality appears good from pix etc
Anyone?
Much appreciated!

Installed a pair of Vinyl/Blackwatch tartan covers in my ‘77 Carrera 3.0 Targa a few years ago. Quality was excellent.

Just ordered a dash and german vinyl early sport seat covers from Lakewell for my '69. Should have them in a douple of weeks. Fingers crossed. The german vinyl looks better than leather over time, imho.

Ordered rear quater panels and targa top rebuild kit for a 72 Targa. Both were excellent fit and identical to original AFAIK.

I ordered the full leather 80-84 sport seat covers and foam for the bottoms then had a local upholstery shop install them. The shop said it was a pain to get them to fit right but the results are excellent. I'm very pleased with the results and highly recommend Lakewell.

Let us know how the dash fits, they are known to be a wee bit "shorter" than the Porsche ones...

Cheers

I'm in the same boat and about to order. Anyone have any "bad stories" with them and customs' duties getting them in? Nice to know about the dash. For $300 more I may just pull the trigger at Pelican for OE.

OE doesn't necessarily mean original, like back in the day. From a search for OEM:

An original equipment manufacturer (OEM) provides components for the finished products of another company, known as a value-added reseller (VAR).
In the computer industry, OEM may refer to the company that buys products and then incorporates or rebrands them into a new product under its own name.
Traditionally, OEMs focus on business-to-business sales, while VARs sell to the public or other end users.
In manufacturing industries, OEMs stand in contrast to aftermarket products, which offer replacement parts that are generic and cheaper than OEM parts.
An OEM is also different from an original design manufacturer (ODM), a company that customizes its own products for resale by the client.

Anyone with the Lakewell frunk carpet put any velcro underneath to secure it?

It looks nice, but with a slightly heavy bag and a little bit spirited driving the carpet moves around...

Still pleased as punch with my covers from 2016. Mr. Van der Meer did a great job. No US supplier was able to match my "LT" factory designation of black half vinyl/half leather back then. They've since aged beautifully!
