87 Carrera Climate control Unit Wiring

I have a 1987 Carrera 3.2

I have removed my Climate Control Unit that needed a new face plate. In removing it I found that the long brown and white wire (covered at times with black cover) was not connected to anything (Please see the yellow and white arrows). Can anyone direct me as to where the wire should be connected too. I have looked all over the wall/floor and I cannot find where it goes

I wanted a U-tube video of someone who replaced his unit and on his same unit the long brown and white wire was cut and not used. Does this explain why my same wire was just hanging and not connected to anything.

Please show me where I should connect the wire or if it is okay to keep it disconnected

Not sure but may be for the parking brake light.
