1969 4 way flasher system?

Hello allSmileWavy,

Have a 1969, the 4-way flasher has a plastic center knob similar to a VW.
The 4-way signal lights work, I hear the flasher intermittent sound when pulled.

When the flasher is on:
1. No lights are blinking in the top signal light arrows of the RPM gauge
2. No lights are blinking in the pull knob center

As I take the knob out, I see what appears a glass/plastic clear tube inside the knob.

The turning signal arrows flash normal when the flasher is Not on!

Should the knob or the gouge signal arrows flash?

All input is appreciated

Thanks in advance,

Jose

I have a 69 that is nearing the end of a rotisserie nut and bolt restoration. I just had to source an original (69 only) flasher switch and got it installed yesterday. Yes, the knob should light up with flashing light. The black plastic tube that the knob screws onto is hollow and behind it in the switch is small light bulb that flashes. I believe my arrows on the gauge flash when the switch is activated but will check later today and report back if that is not the case.

So I double checked and when my flasher is pulled out the center of the flasher knob flashes but the turn signal arrows in the gauge do not.

thanks, for your help and clarification. I will source the switch. Do you have the part number? I searched without results.
Thanks again!

The part number is 901 613 623 02. It is for 69 only and is no longer available. I found a nice used one with a price tag that broke the bank. Just do internet searching and hopefully you will find one.
