84 Wiper control issue - instrument wiring help needed
Dont ask but removed all the instruments in my 1984 911. Ok..I will relent, had windscreen removed and noticed Rust either side of of window frame. Thought it best to remove dash to allow repairs. Well literally the last bolt to go holding the dash pad and the thing spinning. There was no way that dash pad was coming out without damaging it. I can probably demonstrate a new party trick with the contortion needed to get access to that bolt... (why do they make it so hard )
However, as I connecting the instruments up from the pictures I took, I now find I have somehow reversed the operation of my Wipers. That said, some of the pictures are not clear. Lesson learnt. I am after pictures or diagrams of the back of each instrument to compare with what I have done. Flaked off rust, treated it and then used JBWELD expoxy and then primed and touched up http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1664956703.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1664956703.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1664956703.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1664956703.jpg Note - already feeling a bit stupid..... |
Yeh before you put that windshield back in take care of that rust properly. Pay now or pay a lot more later.
